Players, coaches and fans of the Filipino Basketball Association – North America (FBA-NA) will descend upon Winnipeg during the Labour Day long weekend, on August 29-31 to compete in the annual championship tournament.

Over 70 teams and 1000 Filipinos (players, coaches and accompanying family members) – will participate in 2008 FBA Championship Tournament Weekend. Visitors from Canada and the United States are expected to send their best ball players to compete. Ten teams from Winnipeg are expected to suit up and many of those players will come from the two major Filipino basketball leagues – WAAY Basketball and Lipenos Basketball.
